This is an update on the efforts to help the victims of Hurricane Dorian.  Volunteers from Disaster Aid USA are on the ground in the Bahamas.  They are providing water filters, personal hygiene items, family tents, and so on. They have met past RI President Barry Rassin, a resident of Nassau, Bahamas, and coordinating with him and other relief organizations.

However, we have a disaster at Ocracoke Island of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  Disaster Aid USA  in coordination with our District Disaster Relief Committee has decided to deploy  there too from Sept 18, Wednesday  through Sept 22, Sunday, in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse International Relief.  If you would like to volunteer and be part of the deployment team please contact Paul Mahata at    by 5 PM, Sept 15.  He will provide the details of the Ocracoke deployment.

This is just a reminder: things are really bad in the Bahamas and in Ocracoke Island.  As Rotarians take action to get assistance to those in need.  You can make donations to Disaster Aid USA by clicking here:  or via your PayPal account through their website:   or send checks to DAUSA, 9817 Lanham Severn Road, Lanham, MD. 20706.
